Good physical organization = easy running, dancing, sitting, jumping, swinging, stretching,

Shoulder

I’ve been wondering about the word organization in relation to the human body, as its a word frequently used in the Feldenkrais Method. There are more than 600 muscles in the body that are involved in movement. There are 230 movable joints in the body. That is a lot to organize. Moshe Feldenkrais devised 1000’s of lessons. Each one focusing on aspects of organisation between bones and muscles. And importantly -each lesson encouraging sensory awareness and engagement of action. This is how a body becomes well organised – balanced, co ordinated, relaxed, revitalised, connected to your breathing, allowing the possibility to include more of who you are, a thinking, feeling, moving human being.
